Mr Aditya Ghosh,
Reinstate whistleblower Mr Montu Kalra forthwith or face public boycott.
Dear Indigo Airlines,
You have come up with a bizarre argument to hide your crime. Don’t make a mockery of what the world has seen through video-clip of how your IndiGo staff assaulted a passenger, Mr Rajiv Katyal, who had flown in to New Delhi from Chennai on flight 6E 487.
Instead of rewarding your tarmac-staffer, Mr Montu Kalra, who played whistleblower by capturing the gruesome attack on his mobile and sent it to your office for action, you got him sacked.
Legally speaking, your airline should have got a police case filed. But as your airliner worked apparently illegally, you resorted to more of crime. Much the way a section of corporate giants work, you tried to bury the matter lest it puts dust on your white collar.
Mr Ghosh, this raging controversy over IndiGo ground staffers dragging and manhandling Mr Katyal took a new turn when you told the government that the sacked "whistleblower" had "instigated" the entire episode.
"The ex-employee, Montu Kalra who was terminated and is claiming to be the 'whistleblower', is the one you can hear shouting in the video and instructing the other two colleagues, who were junior to him, to prevent the customer from boarding the bus and to hold him back at the ramp itself. He instigated the incident and further provoked the customer by beginning to shoot a video on his mobile phone,” you said in the statement.
Haath Kangan Ko Aarsi Kya Padhay Likhay Kio Farsi Kya; Sir this is a simple case where a corporate house of capitalist mentality is resorting to witch-hunting just to hide the dirty underbelly of the Indigo Airlines, as exposed by news channels like Republic TV and Times Now.
On the IndiaUpfront, live news show hosted by Rahul ShivShankar, the entire world saw you disconnecting the phone call, seeking reply to what the nation wanted to know.
While IndiGo has given its version to the aviation ministry, the latter has launched its probe into the case. Aviation minister AG Raju said the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) is issuing a show cause to this low cost carrier (LCC) and he has asked the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to conduct an independent probe.
Don’t unduly drag the controversy of termination of Mr Kalra any further. It’s requested that your good self reinstates Montu Kalra forthwith as otherwise people will boycott your airliner for obvious reasons.
This is the age of public awareness and people’s power lies in unity. Ye Jo Public Hai Ye Sabh Janti Hai; Public Say Panga Nahi Laynay Ka!
On Behalf of like-minded humans.
Together we can make it happen
