Stop separating children from parents as part of your immigrant policy. Sincerely, Canada

Dear fellow Canadians,

The USA administration continues its policy of separating young, innocent children from their parents as part of its policy of dealing with illegal immigrants.  The mental, emotional, physical effects of such an atrocity are well documented and are human rights abuses.

Yet our Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, has refused to step up and condemn the issue...  so its time for us as Canadian citizens to use our collective voices to send a loud and clear message to our neighbors:  This practice has to stop!!  Current policies need to be replaced with practices that treat these individuals humanely and DO NOT separate young, helpless children from their parents; a third-party, non-governmental agency  needs to be present at all of the US illegal immigrant camps  to bear witness and report externally to ensure no human rights violations are occurring.

Thank you Canada!

Update:  Wednesday June 20 our prime minister has (finally) officially condemned the US administration policy of separating families:

“What’s going on in the United States is wrong,” said Trudeau.

“I can’t imagine what the families living through this are enduring. Obviously, this is not the way we do things in Canada.”

We continue our call as Canadians and for our government to put greater pressure on the US government to end this inhumane practice immediately and re-unite separated families.
