As nursing students, we should be receiving a better education than what is currently being offered to us. We understand COVID – 19 has significantly impacted the way in which classes can be delivered but this should not impact the quality of education we are receiving because we are the future of the nursing profession.

This semester there are two sections of a course. On the first midterm, one section received a class average of 75% and the other a class average of 63% (after a curve). This was the spread for students learning the same content in the same class. The section with an average of 63% was informed that the other class wrote a different exam which resulted in a significant spread.

I believe that if the class is learning the same material, we should have the same tests or a standardized test to determine our competency and learning of the material. To have a spread that wide as it was for this midterm shows the tests were not fairly made. This puts the students who wrote the more difficult test in an uneasy position heading into final exams.

Sign this petition if you believe that as students if we are taking the same class, but with different instructors, our tests should be standardized. If we are truly learning the material needed to become competent, safe practicing nurses; our exams should reflect that.
