During this semester, Saint Louis University has initiated a series of cuts and reallocations of funds which has resulted in the laying off of many staff and faculty, and the intended dissolution of departments and programs such as the Center for International Studies and Student Involvement Center. As the students who pay the tuition which run this university, we believe that it is our right to understand the reasoning behind the decisions that affect our education. Thus, we ask the university to release a budget and cost-benefit analysis of the money being reallocated from the cut faculty, staff, and programming, so that we the students can determine for ourselves if the loss of such valuable assets is warranted.
