Stop proposed changes to the Boilermaker National Health and Welfare Plan

In the most recent monthly update communication from the benefit Plan it was revealed that there would be changes implemented on May 1, 2018 to certain benefits. Changes to the benefit available for mental health and physical health are the two most significant in my opinion. These changes significantly impact the overall health of each and every Plan member. These changes are being unilaterally implemented by the Board of Trustees with no engagement with the Plan members. This is contrary to the Core Values of the Trustees identified in the Plan information Booklet which vow Transparency and "to act in a clear manner in decisions made and actions taken" as well as "providing information on a timely basis". Mental health benefits are slated to be reduced from $10,000/year to $2,000/year and physical therapy benefits are slated to be reduced from $10,000/year to $5,000/year. Both of these changes significantly impact the long term health of all Plan members and further consultation with Plan members needs to be undertaken immediately by the Board of Trustees. Let us have our voice heard regarding these changes by signing this petition today. Let your Board of Trustees know that you disapprove of these changes and want them rescinded immediately.
