Change the name of the Marketing group to "Two Drink Minimum"

John Burke has named encouraging consumer participation as one of the leading opportunities to create meaningful change in our business. We support organizations including People For Bikes and the International Mountain Bike Association that work to create more safe and fun places for people to ride their bikes. The National Bike Challenge is a key initiative of People For Bikes, growing through ongoing support from Trek. Companies outside of the bicycle industry, such as 3M, Kimberly Clark, and Wells Fargo challenged their employees to ride bikes in huge numbers. In 2015, Trek lost the points title for the first time, being narrowly edged out by 3M. In a way, this was a big win for Trek.

In 2016 John Burke has made an impassioned call for even greater leadership from within Trek. The Marketing team has an opportunity, a responsibility, to take up JB's call and move the marker for what it will take to beat Trek. In the midst of some of the greatest marketing and best storytelling Trek has done in its 40 year history, we're left with the absolutely uninspired team name of "Marketing." This petition is encouraging a change of our team name to Two Drink Minimum. Anecdotal evidence suggests that a more inspiring name will ensure that Marketing does not lose to IT, or Japan, or Sales, or anyone. "I think we can double our miles with this name alone," said Michael Meyer, Global Road Product Marketing Manager for Trek.
