Illinois Department of Children Services had potentially changed a rule to not allow staff to work at a daycare center without a full background check without notice. The current rule allowed for a non-background check person to work along a background checked person and never be left alone.

This will take a drastic toll on daycare centers who are already in a staffing crisis. This would not allow for thorough training as well. Please help tell DCFS that we need our newly hired staff working now! Not in the 1-2 months it takes to get a background check!!!

Note from DCFS representative on 3/4/22: Please know that we have just been informed that no one is to work conditionally any longer.  Due to the CCBGD and federal grant monies, no one is to work without the background clearance in hand.
