Why this petition matters

As we have all encountered difficulties during the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, students have particullarly struggled with consistency. We have been thrown many different learning styles with minimal time to prepare. Switching between semesters, quadmesters, half days, full virtual and everything in between has become quite hard for many students. Switching from quads to a full semester is firstly unfair to grade 11s and 12s who had the same course in a quad previously submitting the same grade to post secondary as someone who is taking it in a semester. Secondly, jumping into a semester after having no semester style system since 2020 is a lot to ask for considering the mental strength we have already had to maintain. Lastly, exposing more people to upwards of 120 people is not only irresponsible to our immune compromised students but to our community as whole. Having 4 classes isolate every time 1 case appears is effecting more peoples learning, extra circulars and jobs than maintaining a smaller bubble with less close contacts. As Christine Kane once said, Consistent actions creates consistent results.
