You have a choice in MD and VA. Selling house-brewed beer in reusable containers, aka “growlers” is a
cornerstone of brewpub culture in the United States. Passing the
Sustainable Bottle Amendment Act of 2011 would allow brewpubs to
expand their market and be the final step in making Washington, DC a
city know for great beer.

I think that any beer store establishment should be able to sell beer for distribution via a growler. It hurts small businesses to not have this kind of sale available.

Small cans and bottles are wasteful even when recycled. Using larger, refillable growlers is not only a step towards sustainability and supporting local businesses, but a step towards more delicious, quality beer.

I live in Arlington but frequently go into the district and would like to be able to get a growler filled with beer at a wider variety of locations for my own enjoyment as well as to support local businesses

Limiting sales to large Class B establishments creates an unfair advantage for those establishments & hurts small and locally owned businesses. This restriction would fly in the face of the Mayor's own call to "build(ing) a New Economy in the District of Columbia with strong, resilient small businesses that grow, succeed, and create jobs"

Open this up to smaller, locally-owned businesses. Loved the growlers at DeVinos. Great selection and definitely a greener alternative to cans and bottles.
