Concern Malaysians started this petition to Ministry of Health Malaysia and

WHO Europe published a study in 1998 titled The Impact of Cemeteries on the Environment & Public Health.

It gives a good overview if cemeteries should be regarded as potential sources of pollutants. It talks about bacteria and viruses on human corpse and it’s movement through soil. Possible contamination of ground water that may lead to epidemics. That was 1998.

Today, we have COVID-19 and a Covid burial ground approximately 200m from high density communities and Taman Tun Dr Ismail LRT station.

The Covid virus is new. There’s still a lot we do not know of this virus and it’s mutation .

We need your support to sign this Petition to get DBKL and MOH to assess the following to ensure the safety of all Malaysians:

1. To investigate if there is a breach on the COVID-19 virus in the Penchala River and consider river silting to protect our rivers;

2. To investigate if it is safe for residents to live in such close proximity to a COVID-19 burial site;

3. To introduce a proper COVID 19 BURIAL SOP for our country, that also protects the environment and public health.
