Kansas City Royals: Don’t hire Mike Matheny

Recent reports have shown that Mike Matheny is the favorite to be the next Royals manager. We as Royals fans are not okay with this. He was fired by the Cardinals for a reason. During his tenure in St. Louis, Matheny was known to wear out his bullpen, destroying pitching prospects (which will be bad for players like Brady Singer and Jackson Kowar), and ranked last in Baseball Prospectus’ Reliever Management metric. All we ask as Royals fans is that the Royals organization picks a different candidate for the managerial position.
