Beth Smith started this petition to Dawn Dandy and

The decision was made to not prohibit Stephen Lindrige, a teacher who sexually harassed a pupil in his care, from continuing work within the education system.

This petition is to get that decision reconsidered and for him to be banned from the teaching profession for his actions.

The reason behind this petition is to allow girls and young women to be protected within the education system, a 16 year old should not have to ward off unwarranted attention from a male who is meant to provide a caring role.

The full statement and decision can be read here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/teacher-misconduct-panel-outcome-mr-stephen-lindridge

I believe that he should be considered not only for a lifetime ban from work within education but also to be considered for  sexual harassment in the criminal court.

The legal definition of harassment is as follows:

Prohibition of harassment1)A person must not pursue a course of conduct—a)which amounts to harassment of another, and(b)which he knows or ought to know amounts to harassment of the other.

2)For the purposes of this section, the person whose course of conduct is in question ought to know that it amounts to harassment of another if a reasonable person in possession of the same information would think the course of conduct amounted to harassment of the other.
