Increase the quality of eyecare for New York patients by allowing optometrists to prescribe oral medications.

New York is one of two states that do not allow optometrists, the primary eyecare providers, to prescribe oral medications when needed for patients with certain ocular conditions. A bill has been passed by the NY Senate to change this law, but is being blocked in the Higher Education Committee Members in the Assembly. Please urge Speaker Heastie to move the bill A6751-A this session to improve the quality and efficiency of eyecare in NY state.
