As we enter into our 3rd week at Davidson College, it has become abundantly clear that the Covid Response Team is not working in the interest of "preventing the spread of Covid-19," but rather engaged in an all-our war against student partying. The principles and rules are founded upon hypocrisy and double standards. How can the school condone a Cake Race with approximately 500 un-masked students, but hire a full police unit to shut down the public use of Armfield Court for weekend gatherings. The answer is simple: they are anti-party culture. It's time to come together and unite in a common cause for what is right, and most importantly for what the people want. The Covid Response Team is becoming a tyrannical oligarchy, where rule of the few outweighs the will of the people. This country is built upon the principles of democracy, and colleges are the institutions through which young adults transform into true democratic citizens.
