The “Trusted Partners” do not have appointment availability state side to perform pre travel PCR / NAAT testing for our residents in a timely manner. I am asking for your support as I petition Governor David Ige to implement the following changes to Hawaii’s current executive orders:

1. Expand pre travel testing options for residents to include labs outside of the current “Trusted Partners” list

2. Allow returning residents who have completed the pre-travel testing, the option to temporarily quarantine until negative results are received, once received they may exit quarantine

Motivation Behind this Petition: I am a mother to 2 young children and a resident of Honolulu. As a recent traveler during the holidays it quickly came to my attention that scheduling a PCR/ NAAT test with the “Trusted Partners” is very difficult, as few appointments were available. My young child who is not considered “fully vaccinated” yet, received her negative test results 10 hours after landing. The state is forcing her to complete a 10 day quarantine regardless, and she is devastated to be missing over 8 days of school. We’ve done everything right on our end but due to lagging lab times and sparsely available appointments, my daughter is being penalized. I do not want this to happen to another child. There is no reason to keep a healthy child away from school. Please help me shine light on this timely issue and bring about change by signing and sharing this petition. Thank you.
