School safety needs to be re evaluated , too many kids do not take it serious enough and it can put many in danger, there needs to be more time investment into active shooter drills and training as it will give people the right instructions and training on what to do in a active shooter scenerio. There are more and more Active Shooter events at schools nationwide than ever before. Everyone always says “it wont happen to me” and the best way we can make that statement true is by having our schools go over the proper training for teachers on how to securly protect their room from allowing a threat to get inside to the students. Teaching teachers and students what to use and how to fight back if that is the last resort will not only deteriorate the fear in students but give them hope that they are in the hands of someone that knows what to do in a active shooter event. There are simply not enough precautionary measures being taken to secure safety in our schools and by training students , staff and teachers on what to do will greatly impact safety if everyone including the community re evaluates school safety. The basic instructions for a active shooter is to get students out of the halls and into classes, turn off the lights and lock the door and hide. Its just not enough, teachers and students need to be trained in how to block off any chance of danger being able to reach them.
