me and my wife lost our daughter 2 years ago , never forget it and still very hard to accept , doctors kept ignoring my wife when she was near death due to being very ill , in and out of hospital with fob ofs . did blood tests and kept saying gastroritis . passed away at 26 weeks to find out it was parvo , NEVER HEARD OF IT ONCE NOT EVEN IN BABY BOOKS , it needs changing , alot of friends and family have been tested due to us losing our baby girl

I too could have come in to contact with this whilst pregnant as it was going around in my daughters class when I was 8 months pregnant. I was horrified to find out that it is not classed by my local authority as an infection where the child needs to stay at home. I took the decision to keep my daughter off school to minimise the risk of her and consequently the unborn baby catching it. I was fully supported by the school on my decision.
I'm so sad that this infection has caused such devastation to so many people but am so pleased with this petition that something can/will hopefully be done to raise awareness of how dangerous it can be to the unborn baby baby and how paramount the simple test is to check for immunity is to pregnant women. Good luck and well done on this petition. Lets hope it becomes routine for expectant mothers.
