There has been a massive reduction in the number of youth clubs available to young people. This is fatal. With nothing to do and the need for acceptance, which are both things that largely influence a young people's lives, the most viable alternative is to turn to crime.

The lack of funding contributes heavily to this. In the past decade, funding has decreased from £600 million in 2014 to £400 million in 2017, leading to a reduction of activities available for young people. Without these important networks, the vital opportunity to further install good values in young people is missed, and so are the chances of spotting early warning signs which can be vital in order to prevent crime.

In order to prevent violent crime, we must bring back the abundance of youth clubs which have been lost to lack of funds. With youth clubs, young people will have more to do, eliminating the need to revert to crime.
