It is important that our education system works to provide each student, regardless of his or her socio-economic status, neighborhood, ethnicity or background with a quality education. This starts by ensuring that competent professionals who have the knowledge and skills to create an educational environment, which promotes the academic achievement of students staff Oklahoma Classrooms.

Teachers in Oklahoma haven't received a raise since 2008, and in recent years Oklahoma has been experiencing low rates of retention, and high rates of burnout. The Oklahoma Public School System has had to refer to emergency certification of individuals to staff Oklahoma schools.

Senate Bill 316 proposes to increase teacher Salaries in Oklahoma by $10,000 over the next 4 years through 12 different funding propositions. This bill would not only attract qualified teachers, increase the quality of instruction and decrease teacher burnout.
