At our school, we were used to using Google Chat for our projects and group work when all of a sudden, it got banned. It was crucial for our work and social activities. There was no real reason for Google Chat to be banned, for we got no warning, and there was no news of it other than word of mouth.

      When Google Chat was banned, there was a huge uproar, and everybody was talking about it.  and the superintendent didn't inform most teachers of the blockage as well. 

      Even though some students were misusing Google Chat, most of them were using it productively and for school work. The small percentage of people that were misusing it had basically no impact on the majority of people who used it very productively. It's very hard to misuse Google Chat to the extent that it gets blocked, so this Google Chat Ban is unacceptable.
