my partner was 25 years of age when he was given a 3 year ipp sentence in 2005 for robbery of  drug dealer,,,but after years of being knocked back from parole and different courses thrown at him and was on good behaviour throughout his 11 year sentence and also 9 family members dying withinn 2 years which was unable to attend theyre funerals ,,,he was finally deemed eligible for parole in 2013 aged 37

after been out for 3 years he was recalled on July 2017 on false allegations from police saying he took a police chase  and proven not  guilty in the court of of law on all charges,but because of his ipp sentence he had to wait to face a parole board to see if he would be granted his release even though he was found not guilty on every charge,,and to make sure he was fit to go back into the community again..so on the 27th of September 2018,,I attended his parole hearing and was disgusted in the manner I was addressed on my turn to speak,,they treated me as though I was the one who was on ipp and interrogated me using technical words to make me confused as to what they were actually saying.then once all evidence was heard they still weren't happy with what evidence was presented and told us that they needed paperwork from the courts so we would need to make a decision withinn 5 weeks,so again no release.he still in in prison awaiting his decision, and gave since been told they need more evidence..they need to go into my background.,even though I've a clean slate...I think it's disgusting that they can do this even though judge could see through the lies in court and found him NOT GUILTY on all charges ,but this doesn't matter to them,they over rule what the outcome is..my partner is thinking of giving his life up because of this...as they are all playing with his emotions and dangling a carrot infront of his nose,,something needs to be done its inhumane...not guilty should mean not guilty...please dont judge him..he was 25 when he received this sentence...he come from a broken home,,brought up around crime..he served 12 years when he should have served 3,,he went in a young man aged 25 and was released as a mature man of 37,and because of someones lies..hes back in prison and still is until they sesee him fit to be released into public...please help me abolish this certain ipp sentence ..this should  be called a death sentence as too many of these prisoners are either dying in prisons of old age or taking they're own lives due to this sentence hanging over theyre heads constantly.
