David Fleishman: Cancel School on Friday, February 10th

My fellow seventh grade acquaintances have expressed deep concern over the threat of school on 2/10/17. It is key to the well being of the citizens of the City of Newton in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that the needs of all residents be adhered to. Therefore, we the children of the Newton Public Schools demand that the seven and a half hours of non-voluntary labor and misery of pupils in the City of Newton (hereafter referred to as "school") be cancelled on Friday due to extreme snowfall and horrible road conditions. The situation that took place on Wednesday the eighth of February resulted in many absences and many, many more brutal commutes that forced students who lived far away from their respectable schools to walk. There is strong reason to suspect that this will be the case tomorrow as well, if there is school. While it is fully understandable how the icy conditions on Wednesday caught you by surprise, this time, it is preventable. We the children of the Newton Public Schools believe that this would be the best solution for parents, students, and the City. Thank for hearing out our concerns. The above is the letter which will be sent to superintendent Dr. David A. Fleishman.
