We demand open public meetings about closing Dayton Public Schools
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!
On February 6th, a group of outsiders toured Valerie Elementary School and visited the parking lot of Meadowdale elementary, Meadowdale HS and Wogamen Middle School. They were in a Dayton Public schools bus. They had the superintendent, associate superintendent, treasurer and two members of the board: Robert Walker and William Harris (Board member and co-chair, Mohamed Al-Hamdani GOT OFF THE BUS ON THE WAY TO VALERIE!).
They allowed reporters from the tv stations and the Dayton Daily News to tour, but stopped community activist David Esrati from entering- even when he offered to put away his camera and recording devices.
They were in violation of the Ohio Sunshine Laws- and Esrati had filed suit the day before and a Temporary Restraining Order that morning to force open access to these meetings.
Tell the Judge, and the School Board- that we elected them to make sure meetings are open and honest.
Please sign in support. I will go to court tomorrow- representing all of you- to ask that they abide by the Ohio Sunshine Laws.
I need your help and support. Please share. Let's make the school board do their job- without letting others who don't care about our kids (and in some cases compete with DPS for enrolling students) make decisions for them.
