When you really think about it, randomly firing explosives (aka ‘fireworks!) into the night sky is irresponsible & dangerous. 

Not only are they a danger to human life (we had two rockets embedded in our lawn, fortunately no-one was injured), they cause immense distress & anxiety to animals, particularly domestic pets.

It is long overdue that the ‘available to all’ sale of ‘fireworks’ is reviewed at Government level, with the only sensible & logical outcome being a total ban, except for licensed users.

Many other countries brought in this legislation some years ago, with professionally organised events arranged for the 5th November and New Year’s Eve each year, so no-one misses out.

These days the public doesn’t restrict using ‘fireworks’ just to the 5th November and the 31st December, they feel the need to use them three or four days before and after these dates, therefore increasing the danger and stress caused. They also are now used for birthdays etc. throughout the year.

The irresponsible and totally unacceptable public use of ‘fireworks’ must be stopped as quickly as possible. Please sign this petition and make the Government and local authorities take note...and do something about it!
