Delist the College Board as a nonprofit
The Collegeboard, claims to be a "non profit". However, the Collegeboard is nothing but a monopoly on the education system. In the Unites States, the College Board is the only corporation disturbuting AP , SAT, and PSAT material. College Board distributes the only college exam, the SAT.
The College Board is a multimillion dollar monopoly, not a non profit. In 2020, The College Board made $1.2 billion in earnings. SAT score reports charge $12 for every College you want to share your score to. Even College Boards financial aid system charges $25 for every report sent to a College. The president of Collegeboard makes over 1 million a year, despite running a non profit. Top executives make up to $300,000-500,000 a year. Theese are strange profits for a non profit corporation.
SATs can cost up to $52 for a test, wholsy ACTs cost $60 not to mention the prep material before hand. For highschool students, AP and SATs are a common source of anxiety and panic which the CollegeBoard profits off of. Boasting competitiveness, the College Board disregards students mental health. College tests are competitive and costly. The College Board profits off students desperate to get a good score. Despite hard exams, America is nowhere near the top 5 most educated countries. Education has become a burden on minds and pockets of students, draining them of energy and motivation before they enter the real world. The Collegeboard can NOT be a non profit while making millions in profit off of children relying on them for a future.
