#AVisnotPR - We want to change our voting system!
Sep 27, 2015 — Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to contact their MPs, we have had hundreds of responses!
Unfortunately, many MPs have been responding with template answers. Lot's of them said this:
“The British electorate overwhelmingly voted to retain FPTP in 2011 and I believe this was the right decision.”
We do not agree that the 2011 AV referendum means that people do not want to get rid of FPTP. That's why we are setting up a social media campaign to show MPs that AV is not the same as PR - #AVisnotPR.
Please tweet with #AVisnotPR at 5pm on the 3rd October so we can get the hashtag trending, MPs won't be able to ignore it!
If your MP gave you this template response, why not tweet them directly?
