Proper Signage for Gold Mine Road - NO Tractor Trailers
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
Gold Mine Road is, as well known of the residents of Western Schuylkill (including Dauphin) and Northern Lebanon County, a road that must be respected. It consists of two mountains, sharp curves, steep grades and a switch back turn on the Schuylkill side. Time after time, Tractor Trailers travel the road and get stuck or lose oil pressure because of the turns and steep grades. It is time that PENN-DOT places the appropriate signage along RT 443 and RT 325. The only signage that is posted is after you turn ONTO Gold Mine Road (the signs are quite small) and there is nowhere for them to turn around. There needs to be a larger sign that states which vehicles are not permitted. Most times when they cross the mountain is because of Interstate backups from construction or accidents and not using the proper GPS.
Any time a Tractor Trailer is stuck on the mountain, it not only causes delays for those who need to travel for work, but also Fire/EMS/Police responses. Help us add clear signage to the proper roadways!
