Increase Nursing Home Staffing Regulations for better care to the elderly

There is a major problem in healthcare, more specifically long term care (Nursing Homes) with staffing and the quality of care that the patients receive. The issue is not the workers but the ignorance of politicians when it comes to how to care for these people on need or how much care that these people require on a daily or shift basis. They have regulations in most states where one Certified Nursing Assistant has the responsibility to care for fifteen residents in an eight hour shift.
This care includes feeding, dressing, bathing, one on one interaction, dealing with behaviors, repositoning, assisting nurses with wound care, charting their work, and other activities of daily living.
Proper care is never accompished because establishments run at the bare minimum staffing required by law. They expect healthcare workers to accomplish all of the above for fifteen residents in an eight hour shift. Residents receive 15 minutes of care a shift one on one because of the lack of staffing.
I have worked for almost 11 years in healthcare and refuse to place a family member in a nursing facility due to the regeulations that are put in place my the government.
Please bring awareness to this issue and help increase staffing ratios in all healthcare settings to ensure the proper care for our loved ones and also to help out the health care workers make their jobs more enjoyable and give them the chance to spend time with the persons they are taking care of.
