Let's Show Some "Minnesota Nice" & Have the MN Twins Shake Opponents' Hands at Home Games

Youth athletics promote good sportsmanship and respect for opponents at all age levels and for every sport. So, why don’t Major League Baseball players shake opponents' hands after a game? It’s based on nothing except a long-standing tradition

These players are role models for our children, yet they fail to demonstrate the sportsmanship values that are coached to all youth athletes. My husband and I have taught our three boys the importance of good sportsmanship in all sports, so this MLB practice doesn't make sense. Baseball is the only professional sport that players don’t acknowledge or congratulate their rivals after a game – even in the 7th game of the World Series!

Why does the iconic Twins logo show Minnie and Paul shaking hands when the players don't exhibit this sportsmanship gesture with their opponents?

Let’s get that changed in Minnesota. Sign our petition to get the Twins to shake opponents' hands after the last game of a home series. This will show our “Minnesota Nice” and carry out the sportsmanship values that we practice as kids and embrace as adults.

It’s easy – just add your name to our petition. Thanks for your support!
