Phil Hanlon started this petition to Dartmouth College

Dartmouth College has announced that they are only going to bring back half of the undergraduate students to campus for each quarter of the 2020-2021 school year. While COVID plays a role in this decision, Dartmouth does not even have sufficient residential space on campus to accommodate all students, if they wanted to.

Many other colleges, including the University of Pennsylvania, have announced plans to rent additional space off campus for students whom they cannot house. Financially, these institutions have to rent space for many more students and in far more expensive areas. Also, similar institutions in terms of Dartmouth's size and location have promised to bring back all students, such as Middlebury.

Virtual learning does not suffice. The $60,000 Dartmouth tuition covers all the learning that happens on campus between peers, even at social distance. Furthermore, Dartmouth is our home, and we should return.

Let's pledge not to pay tuition for virtual terms, in hopes that we can force the college to reconsider their decision, and actively seek to find housing for any student who wishes to return to campus next year.

Thank you!
