It's time for Nova Scotians to enjoy a February Holiday!
Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island and British Columbia celebrate a winter holiday on the third Monday in February. With more than 70% of Canadians enjoying a holiday in February, it's time for Nova Scotians to enjoy this opportunity for time spent with family and friends as well. Given that Nova Scotia has the fewest statutory holidays in Canada – it’s time for this NDP government to declare a February holiday in Nova Scotia.
This would be a holiday for everyone, not just government employees. With no holiday between New Year’s and Easter, February is the perfect time to give Nova Scotians a break – some time to enjoy the company of family and friends and time to breathe in the best of our Nova Scotia winters.
I have fought for a February holiday for eight years, calling on three Premiers, including Darrell Dexter. Sign this petition and share it with everyone you know so that we can finally make this happen.
