Concerned Parents started this petition to Danvers School Administration

To all members of the Danvers School Committee, Danvers Schools Administration, and the Danvers Teachers Association:

This letter is written on behalf of the many collected signatures, below, from concerned parents throughout the Danvers community.  The intent of this letter is to bring the children of this district back to a full time, in-school, learning environment by this Spring (2021).

It is alarming, to say the least, that nearly six months have elapsed since the end of the last school year, and we have yet to hear it publicly stated that a plan exists to bring the children back to school full time this year.  A great deal of scientific literature, medical data, and surrounding-community evidence exists to support the children going back full time.

We request a motion be made during the January 11th school committee meeting to vote on beginning, immediate, negotiations among the necessary parties that are required to bring this plan to fruition.

We recognize that a counter-argument exists for nearly any statement made, so we understand that it is likely many points will be raised that offer opposing views from our own; these would suggest a continued hybrid model of learning is the best that this district can accomplish. We request that your consideration of both sides of this discussion be observed through the lens of the common good for these children/students educational and emotional well-being.

In addition, and as part of these negotiations, we request that a temporary post be made available to a member of the parental community. The purpose of this request is to create an acting liaison between the parties involved in any closed-door negotiations and the balance of every parent whom believe it is time to bring these students back to school.

We thank you for your consideration of this request and we welcome any questions you may have leading up to the January 11th school committee meeting.

Sincerely,
