A Facebook user (Facebook: Nana A. Boateng, not his real name, but he is a student of Queen's University 2021, taking computing related class) posted a photoshopped picture in the Queen’s University Class of 2021 group. The original photo was taken on a fashion show. It depicts an Asian guy wearing a Gucci suit and a guy behind him in the background. Nana A. boating photoshopped a Queen’s logo onto the zip-up vest worn by the man in the back and rephrased the line to “International students walking into 8:30 lectures”.
This act is a discriminative towards international students who pay six times the tuition that local students do. We've decided to come all the way to Canada and study at Queen's because we believe this is the place where we can learn and grow, not being treated with racial discrimination.
We, the international students at Queen’s University, request an apology! We take this very seriously and will not tolerate jokes like this.
