Remove the Glen Huntly level crossing

The Glen Huntly level crossing on Glen Huntly road is one of the worst in Victoria. It is so dangerous that trains must go through slowly because of derailing risk due to tram tracks. Because of this, the boom gates get stuck down for long periods of time, which encourages pedestrians to run in front of trains. There is no pedestrian underpass, so pedestrians have no where to escape to. Glen Huntly is the busiest station on the line, express trains run past, and platform overcrowding is a huge issue. I honestly don't know how no one has fallen onto tracks yet. If the crossing were removed, pedestrians would be able to exit the station rather than forming a squish or exiting while the boom gates /pedestrian gates are closed.

In the interim, I strongly suggest building a pedestrian exit on the other side of the platform, there is plenty of room, and this will mitigate the risk of falling onto tracks when the platform is over-crowded.

Glen Huntly station is the busiest, most overcrowded station, I understand that it wasn't initially on the list because it was "too difficult" to remove. Makes sense, do the easy ones first, but now your team has the skillset so please add Glen Huntly station to your list.
