The current COVID Jobseeker gradual cut is detrimental to all job seekers particularly those in Cictoria who face a 6 week lockdown where they cannot leave 5km from their homes. This new lockdown sets back stage one opening plans for 2-3 months. Now with the added unemployed retail employees and expected redundancies over this six week period it is unreasonable and detrimental to cut the Jobseeker supplement payments and gradual reduce them to $250. Jobseeker payments need to return to the current full rate and be extended to at least end December to ensure Australia’s people can continue to live, pay rent, eat and survive in this increasingly state of emergency, high and increasing unemployed and low job market. 
Jobseekers should not be penalised for the dire situation of the job market and the risk of taking work with high health risks.
