As young women, we feel passionate about this issue as it will impact our future and others around us. We would like to eliminate this discrimination to create a better world for all of us.

In Australia, specifically in Victoria, women’s rights are still not completely just and equal to men’s rights. It is appalling that society is still struggling to change these rights yet the outstanding rights in the Constitution. This is a particular issue shown in the gender pay gap. The gender pay gap is such a significant topic happening all around Australia with a 14.0% difference from a man’s average salary for full-time employees to a woman’s. The difference per week is $253.60 meaning that women would have to work 59 extra days after the end of a financial year to get the same pay as men do in 1 financial year.
