The intersection between Kommetjie, Slangkop Road and the schools of Generations and Waldorf expose the users of roads in the Deep South to unnecessary danger. The intersection has seen increasing use and complexity in the last few years as traffic has increased and the schools of Generations and Waldorf grow. 

There has already been at least one incident on the morning of 4th of August 2022 with injuries including two broken legs and a broken pelvis for a motorcyclist. In addition there have been multiple near misses for example this account from the 19th of August. In addition, stories of near misses abound in the communities. 

The City of Cape Town has the power to explore optimal options and redevelop this intersection to make it safer for the residents of Kommetjie, Ocean View and Scarborough. 

Choosing inaction would be to accept that needless injuries or worse will occur.
