Rachel Hernandez started this petition to Dana nessel and

Joann Fabrics is essential during this pandemic.  The entire state has come together to sew masks,  gowns,  surgical caps and more for the medical community.  They offer better discounts and stacking coupons in store that they do not offer online.  Many ESSENTIAL materials for making these items for the medical community are ONLY available in store and sold out online.  Closing these stores will further harm our medical community and put them at a greater risk because we will no longer be able to afford or find the best materials to help do our part from home in keeping them safe.  If the state cannot provide proper PPE for them,  which they can't,  ask any nurse, then these stores MUST remain open.

We are not charging one cent for the items we make and those of us making these items are not working because our jobs were closed.  Without getting the best deals and discounts we will not be able to afford to continue making them and this will be detrimental to our ESSENTIAL workers fighting this pandemic.  A Facebook group called Michigan Mask Movement has thousands of pending orders for masks and surgical caps requested by various members of the medical community.  You are further harming our medical community by closing Joann Fabric stores in Michigan and deeming them non- essential.

They ARE essential for us to do our part so the nurses and doctors can do theirs more safely.

I urge you to reconsider this and make Joann Fabrics essential during this time.  Impose restrictions if you will to allow only curbside pick up or limit the number of shoppers at any given time but these stores are not busy on a typical day and this is never an issue.

Reopen Joann Fabrics in Michigan immediately.
