The glory days of The Washington Redskins

The glory days of The Washington Redskins
We write to you during sad and angry times on your attempt in the "rebranding" of our beloved Washington Redskins. We have observed what you might think is acceptable of the "rebrand" on 2.2.22. You and your executives may consider this a victory and may have had cause for celebration, but at the very time made lifelong fans stunned and disgusted with your 18-month attempt on this "rebrand". We are writing this letter to make you aware we believe this is unfair and requires attention.
Unfortunately, your words "We will never change the name of the team" were not true. Due to ongoing internal issues, loss of revenue, the threat of sponsorships cutting ties with you and political pressure have forced your hand into changing The Redskins name. To appease all these issues Washington Football team was born. Although the name was not the Redskins you still held onto our beloved Burgundy and Gold colors. WFT took some time, but fans eventually came around. It was still our team with our 90 years of history and colors.
Going into the "rebrand" fans were told our input would determine the outcome. With your release of the "rebrand" it was anything but. Fans came up with various names and uniform designs that kept the bridge between The Redskins and new name intact. Commanders and the new uniform designs have destroyed that bridge. You have erased the history of the once regal and successful franchise of The Washington Redskins. As loyal fans stand steady, we are continually left with heartbreak. Since purchasing the team we the fans have been faced with disappointment year in year out. Your inability to connect with fans has caused a steady decline in fanbase. Your home games are now away games. Changing the name could be considered bad enough but to change our beloved Burgundy and Gold is the last straw with thousands of fans.
We would love nothing more than to return to The Washington Redskins. We realize that times have changed and due to pressure beyond your control have forced your hand into changing the name to The Washington Commanders. With that being said, changing the team’s colors was a huge blow to the fans after you and your executives made public statements saying the colors would not change. I’m sure you’re getting the negative feedback and would love to make things right. I’m sure you would love to bring back all the fans you have lost and to keep what fans are still left happy.
We the fan base urge you to please reinstate our beloved Burgundy and Gold so we can bridge the gap between The Washington Redskins and The Washington Commanders. Please leave the Redskins past legacy intact. Fans have designed much better concepts to honor the past than your failed attempt of a “rebrand”. Please see attached design ideas provided by Steve Gonzalez and Chad Fields.
We hereby inform you that from all attached to this petition letter from all levels of fans and attested to by the signatures we are asking you to give back our Burgundy and Gold to its proper form. Our name may have been tarnished but making small adjustments to the current uniforms would mean the world to the fans.
WE WANT YOU, YOUR EXECUTIVES AND YOUR SPONSORS TO KNOW, WE WANT OUR WHITE,BURGUNDY AND GOLD TO ROAM THE FIELDS AS IT WAS WITH THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS. KEEP OUR COLORS ALIVE!
