DALLASTOWN AREA HIGH SCHOOL- students participate in a tiktok trend, get a $500 fine.

On December 7th 2021 multiple students who attend dallastown area high school got voiced down to the office and where told that a trend that took place over 2 weeks ago is getting them fined by 500 dollars and three days of out of school suspension. 31 teens are having to take responsibility of said trend and all of which are having to lose their education chances for the simplistic reason of fitting in with a trend. The reason is that the trend includes waving a phone in the air seemingly imitating a gun as well as the “rap music” over the video. The rap music was referred to negatively as if it was targeting the POC community.
Please help us, the students, of this school to at least lift the FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR fine. Many students already struggle financially and have to wonder if they can eat dinner that night. So by signing this petition you are helping save the students and family’s involved, thank you!
