Dalhousie University is removing its tennis courts to build a parking lot. Their apparent motive is to replace pre-existing parking space lost to the construction of the new sports complex. While this is somewhat understandable, this parking lot is coming at the cost of the permanent loss of the only tennis courts on campus. At this time, we are aware of no plans to recreate the tennis courts at another location.

Not only is the decision to remove the courts objectionable, but the lack of prior consultation is insulting and just another example of the university administration stepping on the student body without a care.
