Amid the chaos that has unraveled many cities in the US since the murder of George Floyd and so many before him, it’s easy to compartmentalize this as an American problem.

Unfortunately, despite our reputation, Canada is not devoid of these issues.

Body-worn cameras for RCMP and city police officers will go a long way to holding police and the public accountable for their actions.

These cameras have been rolled out for all front line offers in Calgary and they have reported positively. Even the police feel safer wearing them. When the camera is recording, all parties tend to act respectfully.
