Sexism is not acceptable, even in the workplace. The Daily Mail had a great opportunity to focus on what is important, however, rather than discussing Theresa May and Nicola Sturgeon's meeting about the process of the UK leaving the European Union, their appearance, more specifically their legs, were the headlines of the paper.
More importantly, Theresa May's response to the article being "a bit of fun", resulted in the dismissal of the insulting headline. There was an opportunity to illustrate to the UK population that sexism and sexual remarks are not acceptable, however May failed at showing how disrespectful it is to do so.
Reducing sexism results in a step forward towards equality. Let's concentrate on what really matters, not just an individual's appearance.
