Every year 1000’s of foals are born either through controlled regulated breeding for a purpose, or from uncontrolled breeding where many horses are left to fend for themselves.

Have a Heart Equine Sanctuary on average take in 20 mares a year who are in foal and/or have foals at foot who have been allowed to breed uncontrolled with roaming stallions.

Breeding is a massive issue in this country, with many foals born specifically for income or slaughter purposes. This needs to STOP. 

Mares are suffering from starvation and neglect, foals are dying from malnutrition and fetal deformities. Siblings breeding amoungst  themselves.This can all be stopped..... 

We are calling for stallion licenses and breeding permits as well as heavy fines for owners found to be breeding without permits.

There are to many horses and not enough homes. Many of these horses are left to fend for themselves without food or water. Left to roam the fields and mountains breeding as they wish when they wish. These animals are at risk of injury and death as well as potentially causing contamination and illness to people and other animals alike.

Help us control breeding and reduce the number of unwanted horses in this Beautiful Country we call Home ❤️
