Change Ireland's attitude towards electric cars.

As part of our Transition Year S.E.A.I 'One Good Idea' project (that challenges students to come up with a way to save energy), we would like Dáil Éireann to adopt a similar policy to the UK's recent one whereby new diesel and petrol cars and vans will be banned from 2040 onward in a bid to tackle air pollution. We firmly believe that this motion will change people's attitude towards electric cars and promote a more Eco-friendly way of living using renewable energy. If we increase the use of electric cars they will become less of a luxury and more of a necessity. We hope that this will cause prices to decrease while increasing the number of charging points which in turn will help tackle air pollution and aid in Ireland's move to become a more Eco-friendly and sustainable country.
