Cycling Time Trials to add requirements for equal prizes for each gender category
Recently at the cycling time trials agm there was a vote proposed by the north east district. To add details of equal prize money for all gender categories.
This was voted against by the committee by 58 to 5. This is in direct opposition to their gender equality goals laid out in this post: https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/articles/view/616
This petition is for ctt to reconsider this proposal and to hold those who voted against accountable.
The full details of the proposed change are:

Regulation 27(e) (page 346 of 2020 handbook) In sub-paragraph 27(e)(viii), after the words, "details of prize awards", add a new paragraph as follows:
Equal prizes Individual: The event promotor must award individual prizes of equal value to the prizewinners of each gender, regardless of category (e.g., veteran, junior etc). As a minimum, the number of prizes awarded to each gender shall be proportionate to the number of riders of each gender as are listed on the start sheet. Should an event promotor wish to award more prizes than are proportionate, the organiser may do so provided that the value of all individual prize awards remains equal across each gender.
Explanation: To remove ambiguity with regard to prize awards and to ensure that where an event organiser has sufficient funds to awards prizes, these are of equal value across gender and that they are proportionate to the number of riders of each gender.
