This petition is about improving cyber security in the Philippines so that cyber assaults that risk people's lives and reputations can be stopped or prevented.

The state or process of preventing and recovering from cyber-attacks on computer systems, networks, devices, and applications is known as cybersecurity (Tunggal, 2021). This means Cyber Security is in charge of stopping cyber attackers from destroying or stealing data for malicious purposes. Cybercrime, on the other hand, is a negative activity aimed at destroying data, stealing information, or disrupting activities.

According to Abi Tyas Tunggal, cybersecurity is critical since it protects all forms of data from theft and injury (2021). This category encompasses sensitive data, personally identifiable information (PII), protected health information (PHI), personal information, intellectual property, data, and government and industry information systems.

Without a cybersecurity program, your organization would be unable to protect itself against data breach operations, making it an easy target for thieves.

Cybersecurity is becoming increasingly important. Fundamentally, our society is more electronically dependent than it has ever been, and this trend is not slowing down. Breach of data that could result in a lawsuit

Identity theft-related information is increasingly being posted publicly on social networking sites. Cloud storage providers like Dropbox and Google Drive now store social security numbers, credit card numbers, and bank account information.

You rely on computer systems on a daily basis, whether you're an individual, a small business, or a large corporation. When you add in cloud services, insecure cloud services, cellphones, and the Internet of Things (IoT), you have a host of cybersecurity threats that didn't exist only a few decades ago. Even as the skill sets become more similar, the distinction between cybersecurity and information security must be recognized.

Governments all over the world are paying more attention to cybercrime. A notable example is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
