The coronavirus (COVID-19) is spreading in the United States, especially California Bay Area. There have been many cases of the virus here in California that are domestic transfer. Our kids and school officials have to face the threat of contacting Coronavirus on daily basis, the experts say it could have been spreading undetected in the United States for weeks because 1) CDC would not test people with symptoms for the past weeks, 2) person infected but without symptom may be shedding the virus and could make others ill.

Experts have already recommended people avoid large gatherings, many large firms (Apple, Facebook, etc) told bay area employee to work from home, so why should we assume schools are any safer than company office? Many kids seat in the same room is exactly the perfect condition for the virus to spread. And why should we wait for any kid to be effected and show symptoms? Again, please note the symptoms could show two weeks after the infection, during this time more kids/their family members/school official could be exposed. The virus is not flu, it's a PANDEMIC. Per WHO, "In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death".

The Castro Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) MUST take action at earliest for the safety of students and the community. The schools should shutdown and looking for options for students taking classes remotely as some of the school district already doing so.
