Refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine, predominantly women and young children, have flooded neighbouring countries. Poland has accepted more than a million people in less than two weeks. Even Moldova, one of the poorest countries in Europe, has taken in 1009 times more of these people than the UK

Ukrainians based in the UK are waiting to provide shelter to family members caught up in the exodus. GB's petty-fogging response has been to tell exhausted refugees arriving in Calais to "go to Paris and make an appointment to fill in a form". These are people who have spent days being shelled by the Russian army

This petition calls on the British government to mobilise urgently and fully resource the effort to transport Ukrainian refugees from countries such as Poland, get them into the UK and allow the UK's Ukrainian community to provide shelter. The visa paperwork should happen after, not before, the refugees are safely in the UK

The petition also calls on the government to provide a 3 yr minimum guaranteed stay, in line with countries in the EU
