One of the worst things in Pakistan is that Women and Girls not only pay government extra taxes to have periods as in way of buying feminine hygiene products but also the cost of Sanitary napkins are extremely high.
Girls work in Pakistan generally at PKR.300 wage per day and they can buy a seven sanitary pads pack in around 150 to 240 Pakistani Rupees. And if we take a medium price as 220 rupees then a girl is saving 80 rupees in those 10 days and those 80 rupees is not even enough to buy a cup of coffee or pay a tariff of a cab to go back to her home comfortably.
In Pakistan, Girls are force to shut their mouth for even asking a sanitary product openly at shops and that's why shopkeepers take cost of their choice. The cost is not same all over the country though the problem is same. Girls and women are not earning enough to buy feminine hygiene products easily within their budget.
Most of the girls in Pakistan don't even know about the feminine hygiene products like sanitary napkins; by reducing cost we can encourage girls in villages and poor areas to use hygiene products for healthy and safe society.
We request UN to enforce GoP and We request GoP to cut down the cost and make it under 50 rupees which will be kind of free for the poor and working girls.
